[INTRO]
This is my prayer, how I pray you that shall take me out of this slum life
and the poverty itself, In Jesus name I pray…..
[CHORUS]
It is my prayer you will save my Jesus; It is my prayer you will take me from the slums
It is my prayer you will take me from the ghetto.
[From the ghetto from the slum]
[VERSE ONE]
I hope that my lord you shall take me from this poverty, being broke, lacking food and even money.
Today I don’t have any soap to take a shower and I haven’t eaten since last week on Monday.
Today is on Sunday, I haven’t gone to church for my stomach is rumbling,
I don’t know what to do for I lack the strength, hear my prayer and work out a miracle
Oh lord…..
[VERSE TWO]
We live a life full of hatred in the ghetto we do suffer; we are left in uncertainty and even in worse situations. For so long we do suffer everyday, going to our beds without having supper
The youth are in large numbers, but no work to do, we are being gunned down and death follows suit
I hope you will bless me to be live like our ministers, I will steal no more and I will mug no more…
[CHORUS]
[BRIDGE]
Never leave me alone, come hold my hand, don’t leave me Jesus, don’t leave me my lord
I love you my father, I need you in my soul, without you I am no more
I love you my father.
[VERSE THREE]
I take my bible and try to preach I the slum, I say halleluiah but there’s no amen
The people are so poor they have no food, No education and no place to call home
The life in the ghetto has been a challenge In all the ghettos and slums
I hope you will bless me I be like the ministers, I drive a big car and live a good life.
